The International Journal for Indian and East Asian Studies (IJIEAS) is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary and multicultural journal initiated by the scholars from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul,South Korea. It aims to provide a holistic stage where researchers from different disciplines, countries and cultures can help give a diverse picture of the East Asian and Indian region, while also advancing research work in this area. In the contemporary times, the increased importance of the East Asian region has brought renewed interest in studying the history, religion, culture, politics and the economic practices in this region. Countries like Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam are emerging as economic hubs and cultural centres. These countries have established themselves as formidable political and social entities in the global arena. This journal aims to provide a scientific avenue to publish research studies focussed on East Asia, with an interface with Indian Studies.
